MATV Party Ends with Gunfire

No one is injured after shots were fired outside of the first ever Mother's Against Teen Violence teen party.
June 15, 2014 - The first ever Mothers Against Teen Violence dance was supposed to be a party to keep area kids safe and out of trouble.

While that was the case most of the night, gunfire broke out just before the party came to a close before 11:30pm.

Luckily no one was injured when shots were fired outside of the party at the Booker T. Washington Center.

The party was in honor of MATV’s founder, Sonya Arrington’s, son Steve's 24th birthday. Steve was a victim of gun violence.

Arrington said this was just another attempt to keep local kids out of trouble.

We reached out to Arrington today, and she said she is very disappointed and angry at the violence.
