The Meadville-Western Crawford County Chamber of Commerce has announced the nominees for the 2014 Diamond Awards.
The Meadville-Western Crawford County Chamber of Commerce has announced the nominees for the 2014 Diamond Awards. The nominees for Emerging Leader category include Dave Astry (Bush Investment Group); Andrew Lincoln (Lincoln Recycling, Inc.); Mark Smith (Northwest Savings Bank); Tim Geibel (Crawford Area Transportation Authority); and Andy Walker (City of Meadville).

Nominees for Small Business category include ERIEBANK; The Area Shopper; Northwest PA National Tooling & Machining Association; Women’s Services Inc.; Family to Family Home Healthcare Agency; Center for Family Services, Inc.; Laurel Technical Institute; Conneaut Lake Bark Park & Paws Hand Delivered; Starn Marketing Group; and Venango Valley Inn and Golf Course.

Nominees for Large Business category include Tech Molded Plastics, Inc.; NuTec Tooling Systems, Inc.; Rolling Fields, Inc.; and Bethesda Children’s Home.

The Emerging Leader Award is presented to an individual in the early years of their career who has demonstrated leadership qualities within their businesses and community. The Emerging Leader Award was established to foster young leadership and enhance retention of young professionals in our community. All nominees have demonstrated professional leadership and a commitment to community service.

Both the Small Business Award and the Large Business Award are issued to recognize local businesses that have achieved success and to support initiatives and organizations that enhance the quality of life in the Meadville-Western Crawford County area. All nominated businesses have demonstrated admirable performance, growth, innovation, creativity, and community involvement.

The Raymond P. Shafer Award for Distinguished Community Service will also be presented at the Chamber's awards night. The name of the recipient will be announced soon. Allegheny College also honors a top college student intern with the Lew Davies Award for Outstanding Community Service. The finalists for this award will also be released in the coming weeks prior to the Chamber's awards night.

The 2014 Annual Award Night will be held on April 30 at 6 pm at the Pampered Palate Catering and Conference Center in Saegertown. The cost to attend the event is $45 for Chamber members and $60 for non-members.
