Morning Garage Fire Sends a Firefighter to UPMC Hamot

A firefighter responding to a garage fire on Station Road was taken to the hospital for a knee-injury. No one else was injured in the fire.
July 6, 2014 - One firefighter was taken to UPMC Hamot after suffering from a knee injury while battling a blaze at a garage on Station Road.

The fire happened around 10:30am.

A cause has not yet been determined.

Nearly a half dozen fire departments were on site, including Brookside, which was literally right down the road from where the fire happened.

Crews were able to knock out the fire quickly.

No one, besides the firefighter, was injured.

The fire did not spread to the home; the garage is considered a loss.
