Motorcyclist Injured After Slamming Into Car

The driver of the car reportedly made an illegal u-turn.
The driver of a motorcycle was seriously injured Friday night after a car reportedly did a u-turn directly in front of the motorcycle.

The accident happened near Routes 6 and 19 in Waterford.

Witnesses say the driver of the car, 53 year old Mitchell Litz of Waterford, and the motorcycle, driven by David Peters of Saegertown, were traveling south when Litz made a sudden u-turn.

The motorcycle t-boned the car, the bike and Peters were pinned under the vehicle.

According to witnesses, litz threw several cans of beer over a small ravine, then fled the scene into some nearby woods. A 12 year old girl was a passenger in the car. She was not injured, Litz later turned himself in to police.

Peters was airlifted to UPMC Hamot where he was listed in serious condition Friday night.
Charges are pending against Litz
