New Citizens Sworn In

It's a special day for more than 40 people, as they proudly become citizens of the United States.
It's a special day for more than 40 people, who proudly become citizens of the United States. There are now 43 new Americans, all with very diverse backgrounds. They came from countries all over the world and gathered at the Erie Federal Courthouse for their "naturalization" ceremony...

The ceremony is put together by the International Institute of Erie and the Rotary Club of Erie.

The new citizens can now proudly call America home and event officials tell us this is always an exciting time at the courthouse. Rich Fleischauer, Immigration Services Officer said this about the ceremony “It's always a happy day the judges always say this is the only type of hearing where everyone leaves happy because normally there's a winner and a loser in any court preceding, .it's just winners today.
