A warm weekend in Erie has meant a busy weekend for Erie police, responding to many reports of shots fired.

This weekend, Erie Police were very busy responding to more than a half dozen reports of shots fired.

One of those shootings was last night around 11:30, when Joshua Perry's home was shot.

Perry says the shot shocked him, and left his children a little rattled.

However, he says he's thankful that no one was injured.

Erie Police Chief Randy Bowers says he believes the warm weather is playing a part in this increase in gun violence and that his squad will be upping the number of officers on the streets on the weekends moving forward.

However, the gunfire continues into today.

Karen Farrell, her daughter and her grandson were in the car on Parade Street when their car was hit by bullet causing the car window to shatter.

Farrell says she was "scared to death" and thinks the violence needs to come to end in the community.

Erie police are looking into these shootings, which Chief Bowers says seem to be random.

Evidence has been collected at the scene, but suspects have not been taken into custody.
