Perry 200 Comes to Spectacular End

After years of hard work, and plenty of events, the unifying Perry 200 Commemoration hosts grand finale.
September 8, 2013 - All good things must come to an end, and tonight a celebration which has celebrated Erie's rich history and brought together all members of the community, came to an end with a grand finale.

Thousands of people came together to hear the sounds of the Erie Philharmonic, playing such classics like the ever-fitting War of 1812 Overture, and The Star-Spangled Banner, and to see reenactors shooting from cannons at the US Brig Niagara, and the Niagara returning fire.

It was the final night to cap off of an over a year's long celebration of Perry 200.

With clear skies, the Philharmonic playing, vendors set up throughout Liberty Park, the relighting of the Perry Monument for the first time in 60 years, and a fireworks display, the Perry 200 celebration - from start to finish - will definitely be something special to remember.
