Scott Enterprise Requests Help From Local Municipalities

Scott Enterprise hopes municipalities in the area will help stop Erie County Council from considering an ordinance for a new hotel on Erie's Bayfront.

Scott Enterprise is hoping that municipalities in the area will oppose an ordinance to guaranty bonds to the Erie County Convention Center Authority to build a publicly funded hotel. In a letter today Scott Enterprise requested all municipalities in the county express their concern regarding the construction of the new hotel. They are requesting municipalities call on the Erie County Council to not approve the Ordinance that would guaranty $35 million for the hotel. The letter claims a privately developed hotel would pay taxes. Scott Enterprise says upon completion of their Harbor Place project the development would pay around $4.8 million in taxes. County Council could act on the Ordinance as early as February 11, 2014.
