Severe Weather Hits Region

Crawford County hit the hardest.
June 18, 2014 - Severe weather was seen across the region last night. The severe storm brought high winds and potential rolling clouds to the area.

Now the Meadville area is in clean up mode, tree branches and some wires were down as a result of the thunderstorm going through. There were reports of high waters and flooding in Meadville as well.

There were multiple reports of tornado sirens in Meadville, Lake City and in Edinboro. A campus alert went out advising of a rotating cloud east of Fry Road heading west toward Edinboro. Some communities will activate their emergency sirens before there's a tornado warning issued by the National Weather Service. Emergency Management Coordinator Allen Clark says there doesn't seem to be enough damage to indicate that a tornado actually touched down anywhere in Crawford County.

Elsewhere, hailstones the size of quarters fell in Ashtabula County after storms ripped across North Kingsville, Ohio area.
