And bar owners say with the luck of the Irish they may be seeing more green than ever before.

Saint Patrick's Day isn't officially until Monday March 17th but downtown businesses say the holiday has extended into a weekend of festivities.

From a bar crawl tonight to the downtown parade tomorrow to the big bash Monday morning people are expected to flood State Street.

A sea of green means a lot of green with sales expected to soar at many of the downtown bars and restaurants.

Today, a transformation is underway local bars and taverns hanging banners and setting up awnings in preparation.

Bars and taverns are beefing up staff and the beer shipments are stacking up...

Businesses tell us with the recent streak of wintry weather everyone is looking to beat cabin fever using this weekend as a reason to get out and celebrate.

And in the spirit of Saint Patrick's Day weekend, many of us will be joining in on the celebrations.
