Supreme Court Makes Hobby Lobby Ruling

Court votes 5-to-4 in contraceptives case with family owned business Hobby Lobby.
June 30, 2014 - In a 5-to-4 decision, the Supreme Court ruled that companies that claim religious beliefs can refuse to pay for some employees' birth control.

Two family-owned companies - Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Wood challenged the contraceptive mandate in President Obama's signature legislation, saying the portion of the law that requires companies to provide cost-free birth control to employees violates their religious freedom.
