Take Back the Site Vigil

The vigil was held in honor of Mary Elizabeth Page.
August 26, 2014 - Another Take Back the Site Vigil was held tonight, honoring Mary Elizabeth Page, the victim of last month's murder suicide. Mourners are taking back the site to spread a message of peace in the City of Erie.

Police were called to the scene early August 1, where they found 62-year-old John Lorenzo and 45-year-old Page both dead of single gunshot wounds.

There are still a lot of unanswered questions about what happened in that upstairs apartment the night of July 31. What we do know is that police say Lorenzo used his own gun to kill page before turning the gun on himself. Page and her children were living with Lorenzo and another woman at the apartment. Page was employed as a first student bus driver in Millcreek.

Tonight's vigil was organized by the Benedictine Sisters of Erie, the Sisters of Saint Joseph and the Sisters of Mercy.
