The Regional Cancer Center Buys "Hug Wraps"

RCC patients will now be able to receive the treatment gown that provides more coverage and privacy than a traditional hospital gown.
January 27, 2014 - The Regional Cancer Center is now able to offer “Hug Wraps” thanks to generous donations.

RCC patients will now be able to receive the treatment gown that provides more coverage and privacy than a traditional hospital gown.

Vickie McDonald, the hospital’s Chief Radiation Specialist, had wanted to provide these to patients but couldn't because of the $70 price tag.

Donations in honor of her mother, Georgina Manzi, and a match by the RCC allowed her to purchase them for the patients.

RCC ordered the wraps from Brenda Jones who started the “Hug Wrap” during her own cancer treatment.

She came to Erie from New Jersey to hand deliver the order.
