Mark your calendars for Saturday and Sunday, March 15-16, 2014, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
It's time for the annual Maple Taste and Tour weekend at Hurry Hill Farm and all the fun that comes with this free event sponsored by the Northwest Pennsylvania Maple Association.
The Pennsylvania WoodMobile will once again be visiting Hurry Hill Farm and Maple Museum to help kick off the 11th Annual Maple Taste and Tour Maple Syrup Weekend, a popular regional event sponsored by the Northwest Pennsylvania Maple Association.
The Pennsylvania WoodMobile, a traveling exhibit, provides information on the state's forest resource and the state's forest products industry.
Taste and Tour visitors to the exhibit will see how the forests of Pennsylvania have shaped the history of the state and nation, learn how today's forest differs from 100 years ago, touch the various hardwood species produced in Pennsylvania and see how deer impact today's forest.
They will also learn about Pennsylvania's forest products industry, see how products are made, learn how the forest is managed in a sustainable fashion, and experience how common and unusual forest products touch our lives every day.
The traveling exhibit, housed in a 34-foot trailer, is a project of the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture's Hardwoods Development Council with the support of the state's hardwoods industry.
The trailer and truck are provided by Deer Park Lumber, Inc. of Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania.
The WoodMobile will be adjacent to the Hurry Hill Farm Maple Museum.
It is free and open to the public. The Hurry Hill Maple Farm and Museum is located at 11380 Fry Road north of Rt. 6N.
