Family and Friends Remember Local Teen

Thousands took to Facebook to support Rebecca Seelinger's family.

18-year-old Rebecca Seelinger died after a tragic accident on route 8 in Union Township on Thursday afternoon when her car collided with a truck. Now her friends and family are honoring her memory on Facebook through the 'Prayers for Rebecca Seelinger Family' Facebook page. The family says they are touched by the outpouring of support on the page. The tribute already has more than twenty three hundred likes. Many people commenting on the page sending love to her family and sharing their memories of their friend 'Becca.' Her family says Becca was a devoted member of the drum line at Union City high school and loved the snow. Becca was a diagnosed with hemophilia at the age of five and became an avid supporter for the cause. She spent years attending Camp Hemovon and has been a volunteer at the camp for the past four years. Her mom told us the support for the community has been unbelievable. Rebecca was studying criminal justice at Mercyhurst North East with plans to continue helping the community. A memorial in her honor will be held on October 29th at the Cambridge Springs Legion Post on route 408. In lieu of flowers her family is asking for donations for the funeral. The extra money will be donated to help the hemophiliac community and cancer community two causes close to Becca's heart.
