It's the 75th anniversary of HOPE for
residents. The housing authority celebrated 75 years of service at the Erie . More than 500 people came out to the event. Colonel Doris Tate-Johnson was an honorary speaker, she says the housing authority helped change her life. She came to the housing authority as a pregnant teenager, when she met with the housing authority, John Horan told her she could do anything she wanted to. She says that positive attitude pushed her to get her GED and go to nursing school. Tate-Johnson says becoming a nurse was always her dream she later went on to get two masters degrees and joined the U.S. Army.
