DECEMBER 26, 2013- The holiday season continues with a week long celebration honoring African American culture and heritage.
The seven days of Kwanzaa festivities beginning today.
It was a celebration of family, community and culture at Saint James African Methodist Episcopal Church.
The church hosting the annual Kwanzaa celebration, officials telling us this season is extra special.
Festivities include lighting candles and giving gifts.
Kwanzaa was originally founded back in 1966 to bring African Americans together and reflect on community accomplishments.

Kwanzaa runs through Wednesday...
