Erie Mayor Joe Sinnott had a late write-in challenge from his former assistant Jon Whaley.
Whaley centered his campaign on unhappiness with plans to tear down the McBride Viaduct.
However, the mayor successfully locked down a third and final term in office.
Sinnott won with nearly 94 percent of the vote.
