Standoff Ends Peacefully After Nearly Seven Hours

The family of the man involved said they were in fear that he might harm himself and that there were guns in the house.
A Harborcreek man is undergoing a mental health evaluation after holding state police at bay for nearly 7 hours.
State police were called to a house along Garfield Avenue in Harborcreek just after midnight.
The family of the man involved said they were in fear that he might harm himself and that there were guns in the house.
It was also reported that the man said the house was booby trapped.
State police closed Garfield Avenue from Depot Road to Avis Drive while they attempted to get the man to come outside.
Then around 7 a.m. this morning, the man answered his cell phone and gave himself up.
Police then spent time going throughout the house looking for any type of explosives.
Nothing was found.
The man involved in the standoff was taken into police custody.
