March 16, 2014 - It's that time of year again for the maple syrup making process to begin.
Production is off to a slower start, thanks to Mother Nature's long-lasting winter.

"Normally we tap in February, many people haven't even made any syrup yet," said Jan Woods, president of the Hurley Hill Maple Farm Association.

Now, with the worst of winter hopefully behind us, lots of people are using this weekend's 11th annual Maple Taste and Tour as an opportunity to learn about the sweet treat, and to also support the local maple syrup producers.

Woods also said this is the perfect way to not only learn about the delicious syrup and support local farmers, but it's also a way to bring the community together.
