Accident Temporarily Closes Parts of Interstate 79

March 30, 2014 - An accident on Interstate 79 sent two people to the hospital and closed the highway for part of the morning.

Emergency crews were called to the scene just after 9:30am when a truck went off the road and into the wooded area between the Edinboro and McKean exits.

An emergency crew flew one person from the accident to UPMC Hamot by helicopter, while another person was taken by ambulance.

Northbound lanes were closed while crews brought in the helicopter..

The names and status of the victims are not available.
