Adam Brown Guilty on All Counts

May 14, 2014 - A jury weighs the fate of an Erie man who slashed the throats of an elderly couple during a home invasion on East 28th Street last summer.
Today brought a sense of closure for the friends and family of Frank and Pat Karmazin.
The guilty on all counts verdict was handed down after the jury deliberated for only an hour and fifteen minutes.
Adam Brown was found guilty of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, burglary, unlawful restraint and robbery. Prosecutors and witnesses say the evidence was clear in the case.
Brown's DNA was found on several items recovered from the home invasion and the couple's stolen SUV.
As well as, Karmazin's blood was on brown's hands, their stolen car and his clothing.
The 22-year-old's story also unraveled as soon as he took the stand. Brown’s story changed multiple times when he was questioned by prosecutors.
Brown's sentencing is scheduled for July 1st at 9 A.M. in front of Judge Shad Connelly.
It's unclear how much time he will spend behind bars, however, he was found guilty on all 14 counts.
