February 4, 2014 - The Erie Playhouse is putting on a production of the calypso-"flavored" love story called "Once on This Island."

The show features an all-black cast, ranging in ages from about 10 to 50.

Performers in this play say it means a lot for them to be a part of this, saying that being a part of the show allows them to represent the black community in a positive light, and an opportunity to show off some of their talents and even inspire younger generations to gain an interest in the arts, instead of turning to the streets and getting into trouble.
