This compares with the national average that has increased 5.0 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.40/g, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
Including the change in gas prices in Erie during the past week, prices yesterday were 12.0 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 19.2 cents per gallon higher than a month ago.
The national average has increased 12.5 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 32.6 cents per gallon lower than this day one year ago.
In addition, in another month we'll also start seeing refineries producing more expensive, cleaner burning summer gasoline, and that will likely keep upward pressure on retail gasoline prices.
We called several stations in our area and found the following prices:
At the Country Fairs at 8th and Bayfront Parkway and 347 East 12th Street they are charging $3.59 for a gallon of unleaded.
Meanwhile the Country fair in Waterford is charging less at $3.54 a gallon while at the Meadville north Street location its $3.69 a gallon
The best bargain we found was at the Pilot Travel Center at 8035 Perry Highway where you can get a gallon of unleaded forr $3.53.
