Car Crashes Into Erie Home

- May 29, 2014- Four people were rushed to Erie hospitals after the car they were in crashed into a house.

Crews were called to that crash just after 11p.m. for reports of a car into a house in the 3800 block of Old French Road in Erie.
According to reports from the scene, the car was traveling south on Old French when the driver reportedly went through a red light at a high rate of speed.
The driver lost control for an unknown reason and the car collided with a house located at 3835 Old French Road.
Four people were in the car at the time of the crash, and while two were able to get out on their own, the other two had to be freed with the Hurst tool.
Old French road was closed down while crews were on the scene.

Upon colliding with the house, the car ruptured a gas meter, causing a leak; National Fuel was called to stop the leak.
The two passengers in the vehicle that had to be freed were taken to UPMC Hamot for treatment of severe injuries.
The passengers who were able to get out of the car on their own were taken to St. Vincent Hospital after suffering moderate injuries.

Police are still investigating the crash.
