One of the more popular events at Celebrate Erie is the chalk walk, a section of State Street set aside for artists to show off their talents.

This year, one of the blocks is aimed at our wounded and disabled veterans.

Lee Steadman is with BLOOM, a healing arts center that's partnered with the VA Hospital.
Many veterans use that facility to better their lives through art.

Disabled veteran Jim Tenon is a disabled veteran who served in the U.S. Army. He said he was homeless and helpless when he came to Erie, but the BLOOM center got him interested in art, and it has helped his healing.
