A preliminary hearing for a man accused of fatally shooting another man late last year did not go on as planned today.

Senior District Justice Joseph Lefaiver granted a continuance requested by the commonwealth because a key witness did not show up for the hearing.

60 year old Kenneth Ellis is accused of firing multiple shots at 37 year old Stevenson Jordon during a confrontation on German Street.

Ellis was charged with homicide, carrying a firearm without a license, and several other charges.

The hearing will be scheduled for early April.
