MAY 19, 2014-- What started as a community protest could soon mean summer jobs for students throughout Erie County. Erie County Council unanimously passed the youth summer jobs pilot program. The plan will allocate 100,000 dollars of county funds, contingent on the Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority matching that with another 100,000 dollars. The Erie Community Foundation will also add 50,000 dollars to set up a website to help students apply for the jobs. The program hopes to employ around 100 students.
