July 9, 2014 – A vote in the State Senate puts Erie one step closer to development opportunities.

Pennsylvania Senator Sean Wiley tells us this is a critical step in the process of improving the City Revitalization Improvement Zone program, possibly allowing cities like Erie to apply for CRIZ designation sooner.

The new language in the bill allows for the approval of four new zones and up to three pilot zones between now and the end of 2015, instead of the original 2016.

The legislation still has to be approved by the PA House, but could significantly impact the Scott Enterprises’ $150 million, 12 acre mixed-use Harbor Place Development.
