They're in the final phase of the sustainability research.
Anna Frantz was appointed as the new project manager in February to wrap up the study.
Phase 1 identified regional issues including high poverty, manufacturing decline, mismatch between jobs and skill sets and lack of regional coordination.
Phase 2 created a vision for the future with scenario development and strategy development.
Frantz is now on Phase 3, looking at ways to create the future of Erie as decided by the community.
Six public hearings seeking the public's input on the project will be held throughout the county June 9th through the 12th.
More information on those sessions will be released in the near future.
