The Edinboro University Department of Mathematics and Computer Science will host more than 230 high school students from five area schools for its 6th Annual Pi Day Celebration.

Pi Day is marked internationally in March to celebrate mathematics and the mathematical constant Pi.

Pi Day is Thursday, March 13, from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Ross Hall on the Edinboro campus.

Pi Day presentations include student-created computer game displays and demos, Oculus Rift (virtual reality head-mounted display) demonstrations, robotic systems, mathematical magic tricks, programming displays, faculty speakers from the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science and much more. Area high schools expected to attend include Cambridge Springs, Union City, Fort LeBoeuf, Tidioute Charter and Perseus House. Following the Pi Day event, students will have lunch on campus and be given tours of the Edinboro University campus.
