Erie Community Credit Union Robbed

- July 14, 2014 – A downtown credit union is robbed in the middle of broad daylight as dozens of people are out and about in the area.

Police need your help identifying the suspect.

This picture was taken from surveillance cameras inside the credit union.

The suspect reportedly handed the teller a note, but police say there was no indication of a weapon.

Police were called to the robbery around 1:15pm at the Erie Community Credit Union at 12th and State Streets.

Deputy Chief Don Dacus says a witness saw the suspect leave in a north easterly direction not carrying anything with him.

The suspect is described as a white man, around 6ft. 1in., in his 20s or 30's with facial hair.

Officers spotted the green shirt and hat worn by the alleged robber in a dumpster behind a neighboring business.

He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to call Erie Police at 870-1120.
