July 23, 2014 - Ten downtown businesses will be able to update their facades thanks to grant money awarded by the Erie Downtown Partnership.

They were awarded the money today from the Erie Downtown Partnership that was a one to one match program.

The businesses and non-profits in the downtown area were eligible for up to $5,000 in grant money, meaning some will have an update costing $10,000.

The grantees will be able to update architectural elements including windows, doors, exterior painting and restoration, signs and awnings.

Most of these businesses and non-profits say these updates wouldn't be possible if it weren't for the grant money.

Some of the recipients include the Erie Art Museum, YMCA of Greater Erie: Downtown Branch, Glass Growers Gallery, Experience Children’s Museum, La Rue Dix, HANDS and Heritage Wine Cellars.
