Erie Fire Fighters Rescue Residents from Burning Building

August 22, 2014- Erie firefighters battled a blazze at 453 west 6th street early this morning.

According to Erie County 911, police were called to that house for a domestic dispute; that's when they discovered the house was on fire.
Residents were trapped in the building at the time of the blaze, fire fighters were able to get the people out.
Reports from the scene indicate that seven adults and a baby were treated on scene, but five of those adults were transported to UPMC Hamot; the baby was not injured.
Three fire fighters were treated at the scene, but two of them ended up being transported, and a police officer was also rushed to UPMC Hamot for treatment of smoke inhalation.
No word on the extent of the injuries.

Chief Fire Inspector Guy Santone is investigating the fire.
