Erie Gives Day allows people from Erie and beyond the opportunity to donate to organizations of their choice for a 12-hour period online at eriegives.org, from 8am to 8pm on Tuesday, August 13.
Organizations that have been a part of this event since its inception say this is a great opportunity, especially for non profit organization Because You Care, which is hoping to build a new adoption center for rescued cats and dogs in the near future.
"This year, above all other years, it's important to us to be a part of Erie Gives so that we can have more money to help build our dream," said BYC president, Kris Steiner.
And with donations being matched by Erie Gives, and possibly your employer (check with your company), L'Arche Erie executive director Vicki Washek believes there's no better time to donate and she says this day of giving shows the kind, and giving spirit of the community.
"Erie's a good place with a lot of people with generous natures and people give in a lot of ways,” said Washek.
If you want to be a part of Erie Gives Day, you need to make a donation of at least a $25, online, with a credit or debit card.
