Erie Native Found Dead in Ohio

- February 9, 2014 - Denison University senior and Erie native David Hallman has been found dead after Granville police and university security searched for him for hours on Saturday.

According to ABC 6 in Columbus, Ohio, Hallman was last seen Saturday at 2am at Brews Cafe.

Surveillance video shows Hallman leaving the bar without a coat.

The search began when Hallman's father said he couldn't reach his son by phone and that he had missed an appointment scheduled for noon. Granville police and Denison University security started a search and looked all over campus for him and then around 10:30 Saturday night, two women found his body in the snow.

His body was found nearly a mile away from the bar.

Denison University has released the following statement: "David was a wonderful young man who was widely admired by our campus community. Right now our focus is on supporting our students. We are very proud of the way our students came together last night to support one another."

At this time the investigation is still underway but police believe he died from exposure and no foul play is suspected, but police do suspect that alcohol may have been a factor.
