July 23, 2014 - The man wanted in connection to the latest credit union robbery in the city is arrested by Erie Police.

The 30-year-old suspect was taken into custody early this morning from a Summit Township motel.

Police say evidence including clothing and a car led to them finding the alleged robber.

Angel Lebron, 30, was taken into custody around 2:30 this morning for his alleged involvement in last Friday’s credit union robbery.

Police responded to the robbery on Friday around 5pm at the Erie Federal Credit Union on Buffalo Road.

Police say Lebron had a gun in his waistband and reportedly stole cash from two tellers.

According to Erie Police Chief Randy Bowers, detectives were interviewing Lebron this morning.

They're hopeful they will be able to solve another robbery that happened on June 13th at the Erie Federal Credit Union at 12th and Greengarden.

Chief Bowers says it appears this robbery was fueled by a heroin addiction.

Lebron faces charges including robbery, theft and carrying a firearm without a license.

Meanwhile, State Police are working the Northwest Savings Bank robbery in Fairview, and Millcreek Police are trying to solve the Americo Federal Credit Union robbery.
