Erie Police Charge A Man With Murder

May 27, 2014 - An Erie man faces charges in connection with the shooting death of his neighbor.

Jason Thomas, 37, professed his innocence as he was taken away from the Erie Police station this evening. He's now facing charges including homicide, aggravated assault and robbery in the April 8th death of Stephon Bibbs, 38.

Bibbs was shot to death and Thomas was found shot in the leg at 1257 East 27th Street. That is where police say Thomas lived downstairs and Bibbs lived upstairs.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Thomas changed his account of what happened numerous times.
