Fairview School District Adds Extra Security Measures

- August 26, 2014 - There are 1,600 kids who attend the Fairview School District and all of them are on one campus in three different buildings. With that many students in one area, the district has been working to add extra security measures. The superintendent is confident Fairview has some of the safest buildings in the area, even adding an on-campus deputy.

Also, Fairview has done some hiring recently, welcoming eight new teachers after eight retired last school year. "We put teachers through a pretty grueling five step interview process and we're very confident we have the finest and very best people. The staff is amazing, there's nobody here I would trade," Erik Kincade, Fairview Superintendent, said.

When it comes to easing the nerves of students, the high school has a mentoring program where upperclassmen guide the freshmen and the middle school will now use the same concept. There are 300 iPads being used by teachers and students, triple last year's number.
