March 18, 2014 - Final preparations are underway in Erie to get ready for the Elite Eight, and the excitement is building with Edinboro in the bracket.

Erie will be in the national spotlight next week as the women’s DII Elite Eight takes over Erie Insurance Arena.

Gannon University was chosen by the NCAA to host the games that will start March 25th, ending with the national championship all played at the renovated Erie Insurance Arena.

The teams are expected to arrive in Erie on Sunday.

Officials have been putting in long hours to make sure everything runs smoothly – even working closely with those who helped put together the Frozen Four at Mercyhurst University two years ago

Mark Richard, Gannon's Athletic Director, is surrounded by boxes in his office with everything from draw string bags, to key chains, to shirts and window decals.

He’s working with his team to put the finishing touches on the big week ahead.

Tickets are available and can be purchased at the Erie Insurance Arena box office.
