Flooding Concerns

The changing weather has caused some flooding issues in portions of Erie County .prompting emergency management to take action.

The primary flooding issues reported in Girard....

Officials say it’s not something to take lightly but luckily it was not nearly as bad as they expected.

A mix of snow, rain, a warm up and additional rain fall has caused several issues in Girard Borough

Standing water and partial flooding on Route 20 prompted PennDOT to temporarily shut down the roadway.

Drivers were told to follow an alternate route...

On Route 18 a close call, running water was on the verge of spilling over into the street creating concerns for motorists.

However, the primary concern was ice jams....

An ice jam nearly ten feet high in Elk Creek had emergency officials keeping an eye on Legion Park for possible flooding....

Route 20 in Girard has been re-opened...

But officials say avoid standing water which can cause the risk of hydroplaning and losing control of your car.
