February 7, 2014 - Tahj Brown, 24, was fatally shot in the parking lot of the "Bavaria Apartments" in South Nashville Thursday February 6th.

Brown was a 2009 graduate of McDowell High School.

Detectives say Brown, who was staying with his girlfriend at one of the apartments, went to meet someone who was in a small white Dodge when the shooting happened.

Brown was reportedly pushed out of the vehicle after being shot.

The car fled the scene. Brown was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives released surveillance footage from the apartment complex in hopes of a lead in the case from Nashville residents.

Tahj Brown has several brothers and sisters living in the Erie area, as well as friends.

Detectives have told family members that his body will not be released until a complete autopsy is performed.

Erie friends of Brown are hoping to set up a fund to raise money to offset funeral costs.
