NAMI is working with Millcreek Community Hospital, Stairways Behavioral Health, Safe Harbor Behavioral Health, the Barber National Institute, the Erie VA Medical Center, and Corry Counseling Services to organize the free depression screening today.
Officials say treatment methods for depression have proved to be very effective, but the first step is getting diagnosed.
The screenings take place today at the Blasco Memorial Library, beginning with a 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. session and followed by a 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. session.
Clinical psychologists from stairways behavioral health will be available for private one-on-one depression screenings.
All screenings are free and open to the public.
