The United Way of Erie County offers free filings for those who qualify...
This marks the seventh year in a row that the United Way of Erie County is offering free filings.
The initiative continues to grow and officials are expecting to service more than 4,500 people this year.
If you make $52,000 or less during the 2013 year, you are eligible.
If you miss out on that bracket, services are available online for free for those earning $58,000 or less.
Officials say there are certain things that you need to bring with you if you take part in the free filings.
A social security card, identification, W-2’s and other paper work is needed to complete your tax return.
In addition, you must call ahead to make an appointment at some locations, but walk-ins are welcome at GECAC on West 9th Street.
If you have any questions, you can contact the United Way of Erie at 1-888-829-5680 or logon to their website at UnitedWayErie.org/ErieFreeTaxes/MyFreeTaxes.
