Crews have been working tirelessly on Gannon University's recreation and wellness center and Gus Anderson field at McDowell.
School officials tell us they are taking full advantage of the summer months.
This upcoming school year students at Gannon University and McDowell High School will be seeing green as new turf projects are underway.
Gannon University officials gave us an inside glimpse at their new field house.
The 61,000 square foot space features a new turf field along with various areas dedicated to indoor workout equipment.
The recreation center revamp carries a $15 million price tag, but is on budget.
Gannon officials said the primary goal of this project is inclusion and making sure all students get to use the facility.
And over at McDowell High School, crews are working to get the football field ready for student athletes.
The old turf will be replaced with new turf. That project costs half a million dollars.
But officials said it’s much needed and is being completed with the students’ best interest at heart.
The McDowell project is expected to be completed tentatively in early July.
As for Gannon’s new recreation center, university officials are hoping to have it open to students by start of the fall semester.
