These treats are so simple to make.
The base of the hat is a peanut butter cup which is topped with a chocolate covered graham cracker cookie to form the mortarboard.
Licorice or any colored string candy forms the tassels which are topped off with a candy coated M&M.
You can use prepared chocolate frosting to hold everything together.
They can be put on a plate as is or put on a stick and serve from a vase to form a cute centerpiece.


· Mini Peanut butter cups

· M&Ms to match school colors
· Licorice or candy ‘string’ to match school colors


Diploma Cookies

These cookies are similar to fortune cookies but with a different shape!
You can even fill them with fortunes all related to good wishes for a bright future or you can insert a special ‘thank you’ to your guests.


· 2 egg whites
· 1 Tablespoon fresh lemon juice
· ½ cup sugar
· ½ cup all-purpose flour
· 1/3 cup butter or margarine, melted
· Chocolate wafers for melting, if desired
· Licorice or string candy in school colors


Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine egg whites and lemon juice in bowl and beat at high speed until foamy.
Continue to beat eggs while gradually adding sugar, until glossy and stiff peaks form.
Gently stir in the flour and melted butter.
Spoon 2 teaspoons of batter onto cookie sheet that has been sprayed with non stick spray.
Spread the cookie batter to 3 inch circle.
Continue to make circles with the batter until gone, 3-4 ‘cookies’ per cookie sheet.
Bake for 5-8 minutes or until edges just begin to brown.
Immediately shape cookies by wrapping around handle of wooden spoon. Gently remove and cool on wire rack.
Dip one end into melted chocolate, insert ‘fortune’, and tie with candy ribbon.
