Today more acreage was acquired by Harborcreek Township.
State and local officials celebrated the additional 1.56 acres to Shorewood Park in Harborcreek.
The project was made possible through a grant and investments totaling at $88,000 from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
The township also got more than $285,000 in grants from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
The land is adjacent to Shorewood Park, bringing total acreage to 14.41 acres.
Officials said this means new opportunity, from fishing to wildlife exploration and potentially a greater volume of tourists and visitors in the area.
The grant money was provided through the Keystone Fund from a portion of the real estate transfer tax.
