- January 31, 2014 - An investigation is underway after an alleged attack on several students at Mercyhurst North East Campus. Cell phone video, found online, was forwarded to us by a mother of a student who was reportedly attacked after a party off campus January 19th. Lin Gabriel, says her daughter Sara, was helping a friend who got into a fight with another female over her relationship with male student on campus. As they fled across campus to Neumann Hall the mob of people followed them and began fighting in the dorm hallway. Four students in all were reportedly injured. Two were treated and released from the hospital. Gabriel says since the alleged attack she has been in talks with representatives at Mercyhurst North East, but has not been satisfied with the results. She is now pressing charges against the individuals involved in allegedly attacking her daughter and the others.
Mercyhurst University has released this statement:

Mercyhurst University does not tolerate violence of any kind on its campuses and students found responsible for violating the university’s Student Conduct Code will be sanctioned accordingly.”
