Judicial Candidates Wife Sentenced For Forgery

The wife of a judicial candidate who admitted to forging her husband’s nomination petitions was sentenced today.

47-year-old Marni Alward was sentenced to five days prison time, 30 days under electronic monitoring and must serve probation.

Alward pleaded guilty to forging signatures on her husband’s election nomination petitions back in January.

Her husband John Alward, was running for district judge in western Erie County when she allegedly forged signatures.

John Alward later dropped out of the race because of the allegations
