Laid Off GE Workers Get Job Help

June 20, 2014- Laborers who have been displaced by the GE Transportation layoffs learned more about new opportunities this morning.
Hundreds of laid off union workers gathered at the UE local 506 union hall.
It was all part of an informational meeting for workers to learn about benefits through trade adjustment assistance.
Workers who qualify for TAA can get extended health care, unemployment pay, relocation benefits and money for retraining.
Officials from Career Link were also on hand offering tips and suggestions to displaced workers.
